Hello…and thank you for stopping by!

I am a freelance writer and editor as well as the Main Range Editor for Chinbeard Books‘ officially-licenced Robin of Sherwood novels. I have a regular column in the San Francisco-based quarterly magazine Search, issues of which are downloadable here. I also contribute to The Doctor Who Companion and I manage The Dean Martin Association (2020 will see the DMA’s 60th year in existence!).

In 2020, I have three brand-new titles planned for release…an original, alternative history novel, a Tales of the Bloodkind anthology and a follow-up book on Dean Martin (the latter celebrating The Dean Martin Association’s Golden Anniversary). Please stay tuned for more details…coming soon!

I have previously worked for Starlog and with the sites Den of Geek, Shadowlocked, Doctor Who TV and Red Shirts Always Die as well as for Encore, the magazine for the entertainment professional.

I scripted Doctor Who – Cryptobiosis, starring Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant for Big Finish Productions and worked long-term with the West End stage production, The Definitive Rat Pack.

My first novel, Cold Runs the Blood, was released in 2013 (remounted and re-released in 2019 as Cold Runs the Blood – A Tale of the Bloodkind, available to purchase here)  and I contributed to the charity anthology Seasons of War – Tales from a Time War in 2015. I have short stories published in the anthologies Grave Matters (2014), The Extraordinary Lives of People Who Never Existed (2015) Doctor Who – A Time Lord For Change (2016) and The Librarian (2017) and had one recorded for a podcast for Horror Addicts where I was the featured author (2019).

In 2017, I completed Just Dino – A Personal Recollection of Dean Martin, based on a work my late father, Bernard H Thorpe, started some years ago. A revised version, Dean Martin – Recollections, was released in hardback in 2018, expanded with new and archival interviews. It is available from all good bookstores as well as online.

I offer (reasonably priced!) proofreading, editing and typesetting services to up-and-coming authors or anyone whose writing they feel needs a bit of a polish/fresh set of eyes. Get in touch if you’re interested!
